Whew – What a night! I’m truly exhausted.
Jazzy woke me up, as usual, with her annoying barking. This time, however, she didn’t’ let up. Now, in my experience on this Ranch, that means trouble. So, I poked my head out of my condo just in time to see a coyote standing a few feet away on the other side of the fence! And (horrors), the thing was headed toward baby Galleta’s house!
Well, we have all fallen quickly in love with our newest Ranch baby, Poca Galleta, which means “little biscuit” — and my human most of all. She finally has herself a little alpaca-girl! And all of us ‘old hats’ are feeling very protective of this charing, furry creature, since she isn’t even a week old.
The coyotes have sure been getting really close lately, and it’s been making everyone pretty nervous. I know things have gotten serious when my human starts packing her pistol during Ranch rounds, ’cause she doesn’t even like to squish bugs!
But at night we rely on Jazzy – our reliable guard dog and friend to humans, alpacas, and diva-pigs alike. She patrols the fence line, barks at intruders, and chases off four-legged menaces. Which is precisely what happened last night.
It’s nice to know we’re in “good paws” here at Turkey Ridge Ranch…
